Nine is fine as Williamsburg Revolution advance in 9U state tourney

JAMES CITY – Williamsburg Revolution 9U team used a 9-run inning to roll to a victory in the Babe Ruth of Virginia state baseball tournament opener on Friday afternoon.

Noah Katz scored three runs against Fluvanna.
The young all-stars found that offensive magic again Saturday, posting nine runs in the top of the second during a 15-5 victory over Fluvanna in an elimination game held at Warhill District Park.

Ashton Ware and Noah Katz each scored three runs and drove in another to lead the team. Eight of 9 players scored at least one run as Williamsburg kept its state tournament title hopes alive.

Braden Dudeck struck out four in four innings.
Braden Dudeck scored two runs and drove in pair. He also pitched four strong inning and struck out four to earn the victory.

Ryan Terrell had two runs and drove in two. Vincent Smith scored two runs and added an RBI. Griffin Wahl and Andy Homer each scored two runs.

The Revolution will play either New Kent or Winchester at 3 p.m. on Saturday in another elimination game.
